All of our Vocational Experts are experienced Rehabilitation Counselors and the company voluntarily follows the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) suggested guidelines for our Rehabilitation Counselor/Vocational Expert selection process . As such, they have the graduate school education, specialized training, and work experience that gives them a thorough understanding of the impact of impairments on functional abilities, labor market needs, and job placement strategies.
VOCATIONAL EXPERTS (VEs)
All of our VEs are personally selected and guided in their self-training by our CEO, Dr. Reed. Their training benefits from the 40 years of experiences that Dr. Reed has had in approximately 20,000 Social Security Disability Hearings and hundreds of court trials that gives him a well deserved reputation among highly-regarded peers, Social Security Disability Administrative Law Judges, Law Professors, and civil litigation attorneys.
Our VEs are encouraged to utilize a variety of tools, have up-to-date knowledge of and experience with industrial and occupational trends and local/national labor market conditions. Their training must include methods to enable them to evaluate the age and education ramifications, prior work experience, and residual functional capacity posed in hypothetical questions, and how those variables might affect the claimants ability to perform past relevant work and/or any other work that exists in the national (or regional) economy. Our VEs must be trained in the knowledge of and functional use of vocational reference sources (including the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, its supplements and Selected Characteristics of Occupations, Occupational Requirements Survey, Occupational Employment Survey, Census data, etc.) to gather information about the duties, skills, physical demands, working conditions, occupationally significant characteristics, transferable skills to other jobs, and job numbers estimates.
Dr. Reed also shares his experience with our VEs in how to give clear, concise, and factually based and opinion testimony. All of that training and more, coupled with their extensive experiences in employment counseling, job coaching, and/or placement, transitions them from skilled Rehabilitation Counselors to our highly skilled Vocational Experts. Our VEs are experienced, trained, and qualified to be experts in Social Security Disability Hearings, Workers' Compensation Hearings, and Tort Civil Litigation cases in Courts of Common Plea and Federal Court Cases.
